Our Mission

We believe a motivated, confident girl can bring great change in the world. Our mission is to inspire girls by providing educational/art lessons to promote lifelong skills, open horizons, build character and enhance confidence, while addressing the ever increasing need for self-expression and validation among them today.

​

Through a series of engaging lessons in fashion, beauty and STEAM education, we will provide an interactive training course for our budding young creators and enthusiasts to discover more about themselves and proudly embrace who they are.

 

Fashion Image Express is open to girls aged 11-17.

Materials will be provided for each activity, including a starter kit and informational guides to take home and be inspired to create even more. As a culmination, participants will come together for a style photo shoot to incorporate all they have learned and utilize their creativity.

F.I.X. IT! FULL COURSE

The F.I.X. It! course and all its components is valued over $900, but is available for

only $195. It includes:

  • 8-hours of interactive training

  • Fashion starter kit

  • Beauty starter kit

  • Access to all equipment and other materials

  • Photoshoot of the final style look which includes fashion and hair consultation and access to digital files

  • Informational guides

  • Style/Fashion books by SLA. 

  • Access to a Facebook support group for follow up questions and discussions

  • Certificate of completion

Participants will have full interaction with fashion designers, licensed and professional hair stylist, sewing/textile instructors, and industry professionals.

Optional Course: Mobile Fashion Camp is a structured outlet that fosters creativity in the areas of fashion design, merchandising and styling. We help our youth understand the varied career paths that they can attain, by gaining life skills in these areas. The education students receive, also instill self esteem and provide practical skills that can be used in a future trade or career. Mobile Fashion Camp is "on-the-move".  It is a  fashion/sewing learning studio on-the-go.   Each camp is hosted at various art facilities, schools and recreational centers through out the city.  For hosting or sponsorship, please email  info@sharmooz.com or call 800.405.6416 ext 104.

About US

​

          Niki Jackson is an esteemed hair stylist, model and mentor from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She loves serving humanity, especially women and girls, by transforming their hair and lives through her creative and artistic abilities.


          Niki has been licensed for thirteen years. A third-generation hair stylist, Niki spent many hours growing up in the salon admiring the artistry of both her mother, who she currently works alongside, and grandmother who retired the business after 30 plus years. That background accompanied with education from some of the leading hair artists and brands in the country, she has established a niche in healthy haircare, with a focus in hair coloring and creative styling.  Her eye for detail and precision are also skills that set her apart from most.


          During her nine years of modeling, Niki has walked in runway shows for major department stores, in New York Fashion Week, and has been featured in commercial and print work for various brands. If she’s learned anything, it’s that confidence in who you are is key. She hopes to translate this life lesson and other life skills in her mentoring with young girls all around.

 

Ann Tillage is the founder and owner of Sharmooz Los Angeles, a design boutique company that specializes in Satin Beauty Accessories. She is the 3rd generation in a family of seamstresses, designers, and business owners. She comes from a long line of fashion forward, and entrepreneur-minded women and recently her designer scarf was featured in Essence Magazine Black Panther Edition. Although, her main career focus is fashion her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry comes full circle with designing and teaching STEAM based projects.  

​

Ann’s success and products have been recognized in numerous  ways.  She was featured on a billboard advertisement for the American Cancer Society’s More Birthdays Campaign. Her products have been featured on news shows, local and national outlets including Essence Magazine, are highly recommended by numerous salons and beauty professionals, including celebrity stylist Toni Belle. Her products have even shown up in Fashion Week in New York,  the silver screen, in the movie On Angel’s Wings, and on the small screen in ABC’s Suburgatory. 

​

She is honored to participate in various activities within the community. She has donated services to the local American Cancer Society and Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. Sharmooz will continue to support Cancer Awareness and Research.  Ann also supports the youth as a mentor with the Big Buddy program, was a star dancer for Dancing with Big Buddy,  and as a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run.  Her mentoring doesn’t stop there.  Her heart has grown close to lives of our youth and has developed Mobile Fashion Camp ~ a community program developing creative and positive outlets through sewing and fashion which she has received the Day of Service Award where she has worked with YMCA, YWCA, AKA Arts Program, Gardere Community Program, and more. She also has commitments and member of the Jack and Jill, Inc. Baton Rouge Chapter, La Capitale Links Chapter and the Futures Fund Organization.
